Drake brings big names to TO

Eminem and Jay-Z join Drake on stage at the OVO Festival.

Drake’s rise in the hip-hop world has been nothing short of remarkable. He has many of the biggest names in the biz on speed dial and his debut album boasted several impressive collaborations.

The Canadian superstar has been on the road on his Away From Home tour. He brought the tour to Toronto for one last show. This concert was also the scene of the inaugural OVO Festival. Drake performed in front of an adoring hometown crowd last night (August 1) at the Molson Amphitheatre.

Lots of big names joined Drake on stage, including Rick Ross (B.M.F. [Blowing Money Fast]), Fabolous (Throw It in the Bag), Young Jeezy (Unforgettable) and Kardinal Offishall (‘Ol Time Killin’).

Drake had a few surprises up his sleeve bringing out two of hip-hop’s biggest names, the undisputed highlights of the evening. Eminem appeared on stage and drew some of the loudest cheers with his performance. Drake also welcomed Jay-Z who performed Run This Town to a very appreciative audience. Three cheers for Drizzy for bringing these heavyweights north of the border.

MTV.com recently talked about the OVO Festival. It reported: "The show, created by the rapper’s entertainment company October’s Very Own, will coincide with the 43rd annual Caribana Toronto Festival, a two-week celebration of Caribbean culture in Toronto."
