Drake to host 2011 Juno Awards in Toronto
The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences has just announced that hit performing artist Drake will host the Juno Awards next March, reports MTV.
At age 24, the entertainer will be the show’s youngest host when he takes the stage at the Air Canada Centre in his hometown of Toronto.
The awards show, which was held in Newfoundland last year, will be broadcast live on CTV on March 27, 2011. Nominees will be announced February 1, and Drake may well be among them – last year the recording artist received four nominations and two awards.
The year 2011 will mark the 40th anniversary of the ceremony that recognizes outstanding achievements in the Canadian recording industry.
"I am beyond honoured to be hosting this monumental Juno Awards in the greatest city on Earth," enthused Drake in an official statement. This week, he and fellow Canadian musician, Justin Bieber, have both just received Grammy nominations for best new artist.
