Daniel Smith, 20, died after taking a combination of tranquilizers and methadone, according to the official autopsy. The drugs combined to cause an arythm of the heart, which proved to be fatal on September 10.
Smith, 38, had given birth in a Bahamian hospital to a baby girl just three days before her son’s death. The young man had been taking anti-depressant drugs when he travelled to the Bahamas to see his mother and new baby sister.
