Britain’s Duchess Catherine will be a great addition to the UK royal family, according to Dame Helen Mirren.
The 30-year-old brunette – who is also known as her maiden name of Kate Middleton – became a member of the famous family last year when she married future king Prince William and Helen says they are lucky to have her.
The actress – who won an Oscar for portraying William’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, in 2006 film ‘The Queen’ – told Parade: ”We’re lucky to have such a true person as Kate Middleton. Kate is exactly what the monarchy needs – an ordinary girl. She’s going to be terrific.”
Helen recently revealed how she thinks the queen has a ”twinkling” personality and is nothing like her serious public persona.
She said: ”She does laugh. She makes jokes. She twinkles.
”I met her once in a fairly relaxed situation at a polo match. She was charming and funny, not at all the serious person we think of. There’s someone else in there and I was desperate to bring that to the screen.”
