Britain’s Duchess of Cambridge admits it will be a ”long time” before she becomes queen.
Duchess Catherine – who is currently expecting her first child – will become Queen Consort when her husband Prince Williams take the throne, but that won’t happen until his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, and father Prince Charles, pass away.
During her visit to Grimsby earlier this week, Catherine – who was known as Kate Middleton before her 2011 wedding – spoke to Claire Moss-Smith, who told her she was waiting for her to become queen.
The 31-year-old beauty responded with a smile and said: ”You might be waiting a long time.”
During her trip, Catherine also met patients from St Andrew’s Hospice including 76-year-old Peter Foot.
The elderly gentleman got up from his wheelchair in order to bow to the duchess but she told him there was no need.
He said: ”I stood up so I could bow to her. She said ‘Sit down.’ I explained I could not stand very long, that’s why I’m in the chair.
”I was always taught to be a gentleman by mother because that’s the thing to do.”
