Britain’s Duchess Catherine is taking cooking lessons.

The duchess – who is expecting her first child with husband Prince William – has reportedly been seeking advice from her new housekeeper Antonella Fresolone, who was known in her 13 years working at Buckingham Palace for her ”delicious” Italian cooking.

According to Us Weekly magazine, Antonella – who is particularly famed for her pasta and freshly-baked bread – has been teaching Catherine ”a number of new dishes” since her new appointment three weeks ago.

The duchess – who was known as Kate Middleton before her marriage – may be expanding her culinary options in late pregnancy, having been craving particular foods, including lavender shortbread and papaya, in the earlier months.

Speaking about the shortbread – which are sold by her father-in-law Prince Charles’ Duchy Originals organic food brand and London-based department store Fortnum & Mason – a source said recently: ”A lot of women develop cravings during pregnancy and Kate is no exception. She has got a real taste for these biscuits.

”Lavender is said to have healing properties, so it is not such a wacky food to nibble on when you’re pregnant.”
