Duchess of Cornwall joins Zara Phillips at Horse Show

Britain’s Duchess of Cornwall greeted a crowd of Olympic eventers including her niece Zara Phillips at the International Horse Show this week (19.12.12).

Britain’s Duchess of Cornwall joined Zara Phillips at the International Horse Show on Wednesday (19.12.12).

The 65-year-old royal relived the success of the 2012 Olympics at the London-based event in Hammersmith, where she greeted a crowd of equestrian Olympian champions including her niece Zara.

Camilla welcomed Zara – who won a silver medal in the three-day eventing category – with a kiss on the cheek before greeting her teammates Tina Cook, William Fox-Pitt, Mary King and Nicola Wilson. The excited athletes were seen waving flags from the sidelines, with their medals displayed proudly around their necks.

The duchess is a keen equestrian and is a patron of The British Equestrian Federation, and appeared to be enjoying herself at the annual show, which takes places from December 17 to 23 at the Olympia Grand Hall.

This year’s event boasts with a circus theme and features International show jumping and dressage competitions.

Camilla was thrilled to be shown a Diamond Jubilee themed horse box with an adorable Shetland pony tethered inside, according to HELLO! magazine.

The royal – who is married to heir to the throne Prince Charles – attended the Queen Elizabeth’s annual Christmas lunch earlier in the day alongside the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
