Duck paths open

Duck paths along canals and rivers have opened to allow the birds safe passage in London, Birmingham and London.

Duck paths have opened in Manchester, London and Birmingham.

The Canal and Rivers Trust has drawn temporary lanes for the birds alongside towpaths to remind pedestrians to consider the wildlife while they use them, reports Mirror.co.uk.

It is the second measure that has been taken by the organisation to protect the ducks after they warned people of the dangers of feeding the animals bread.

The Trust’s spokesperson, Peter Birch said: ”Bread’s not great for a duck’s health as it’s nothing like their natural diet so don’t over feed them with large quantities of it.

”Please come and feed the ducks but do it sensibly so your children and future generations can enjoy it too.”
