Duffy Working on Sophomore LP

Duffy has teamed with trusty music veterans for her next album.

Singer Duffy, who is currently working on her next album, has surrounded herself with experienced artists and producers for her important sophomore effort, which usually confirms the success of an artist’s first album and acts as a precursor to a lasting music career.

Duffy’s debut album, Rockferry, featured a fresh twist on the sounds of the 60s, triggering flashbacks to Dusty Springfield. This time, the singer is planning to continue in the same vein, and has sought the services of songwriter Albert Hammond Sr., sources revealed to Billboard.com.

Roots drummer Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson, a popular artist who worked on Sara Bareilles’ second album, also lent a helping hand to Duffy on her new LP.

Duffy’s yet-untitled second album is slated for release at the end of the year.

In the United States, the singer sold 848 000 copies of her debut album, in addition to winning a Grammy in the Best pop vocal category.
