Britain’s Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been granted planning permission for their Anmer Hall mansion.
The royal couple – who are expecting their first child together – have been given the green light to renovate their lavish 10-bedroom abode on Queen Elizabeth’s Sandringham estate in Norfolk.
A Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk spokeswoman told the Daily Mirror newspaper: ”I can confirm that the plans were approved. I cannot give any other details.”
According to the plans, Prince William and Duchess Catherine intend to build a brand new 16ft by 16ft garden room with large bay windows.
The couple’s main aim with the renovations of the 20,000 acre estate is to ensure greater privacy and security for their unborn child, so the driveway will be re-routed and lined with trees and the main gates will be moved.
Planning has also been granted to turn an old wood store into habitable accommodation, which is expected to provide lodgings for the couple’s security members and police guards.
The royal pair are currently based in a rented farmhouse in Anglesey, Wales, where William undertakes his RAF Search and Rescue helicopter pilot duties.
