Duke of Kent visits children’s charity

Britain’s Duke of Kent has visited a children’s epilepsy charity.

The royal paid a visit to Young Epilepsy’s headquarters in Lingfield, south east England, last week to find out about plans to build a new Education Resource Centre.

The £10 million project will help children from the ages of five to 19 who are suffering from physical disabilities, autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and learning disabilities, according to Get Surrey.co.uk.

Lisa Farmer, Young Epilepsy’s chief executive, told the website: ”It was an honour to receive a visit from His Royal Highness, the Duke of Kent.

”Epilepsy and associated conditions are widely misunderstood. Having such a high profile visitor attend to help shine a light on the 112,000 young lives affected will have a huge impact.”

The Duke unveiled a plaque to commemorate his visit and visited the site’s school, health services, the arts centre and the Neville Childhood Epilepsy Centre.

He also met with staff and patients at the facility at St Piers Lane, where he was presented with a painting by children.
