Ben Jones, who played Cooter in the series, feels that the big screen version of the ‘good ol’ boys’ is simply degrading. The Dukes of Hazzard stars Jessica Simpson, Seann William Scott and Johnny Knoxville.
"Rather than honouring our legendary show, they have chosen to degrade it.", said the former star.
On his official website, Jones urged fans to stay away from the film, because he feels the movie is "a sleazy insult" to the original show. He added, "don’t go unless they clean it up!"
The Dukes of Hazzard opens in theatres on August 5, 2005.
