Dustin Hoffman Won’t Do Little Fockers

Dustin Hoffman will not be playing Ben Stiller’s father in the third film of the Meet the Parents franchise.

Although filming of Little Fockers has been underway in Chicago since last month, Orange News has learned that Hoffman has refused to reprise his role in the new flick.

Hoffman blames a scheduling conflict for not joining his former team.  Barbra Streisand, who played Ben Stiller’s mother, is also not confirmed for the new film.

For now, that leaves a cast of Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro, Teri Polo, Jessica Alba, Owen Wilson and Laura Dern.

In the film, Gaylord Focker (Ben Stiller) and Pamela Byrnes (Teri Polo) become parents.  The plot details are being kept under wraps for now, but we know that Jessica Alba will play a pharmaceutical rep who catches the eye of every man she meets.

The film is scheduled for release on July 30, 2010.  The first film of the franchise, Meet the Parents, earned $296 million at box offices worldwide.  The sequel, Meet the Fockers, topped that number with $433 million earned worldwide.
