Early Beatles recordings released November 8

First studio sessions feature Tony Sheridan on lead vocals.

Fifty years ago, in 1961, The Beatles first set foot in a recording studio and the complete collection of those tracks will be available for the first time in North America on November 8, reports Gibson.

In that year, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison and Pete Best went into a studio in Germany to record with singer Tony Sheridan, making it the first unofficial Beatles record, although the album was officially named Tony Sheridan and The Beat Brothers.

Now the album will be available in its entirety for the first time in North America. The Beatles with Tony Sheridan: First Recordings: 50th Anniversary Edition is a 2-CD set and comes with a specially-designed book featuring photos by Astrid Kirchherr and others who were with The Beatles during the early days of their career.

Although most of the tracks feature Tony Sheridan on lead vocals, John Lennon sings lead for Ain’t She Sweet, and George Harrison plays an instrumental, Cry for a Shadow.
