Eddie Redmayne grateful to supportive Bailey

Eddie Redmayne enjoys a close relationship with Burberry creative director Christopher Bailey.

The ‘My Week with Marilyn’ actor was recently named as the new face of the fashion house and says he agreed to do it because Christopher has always been so supportive.

Speaking at the Orange Wednesdays Rising Star Award shortlist announcement – where he is nominated alongside Chris O’Dowd, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Hemsworth and Adam Deacon, he told BANG Showbiz: "The modelling I’m doing is with Burberry and Christopher Bailey who runs that is a great supporter of the arts, the industry. They pride themselves of finding young actors and musicians. He’s always been a good friend to me and seen lots of the plays I’ve done and been a wonderful support. When he asked me to do it – well I also love the clothes – I said yes! I wasn’t going to complain. It’s rather a specific relationship as opposed to it just being modelling."

Eddie appears in the latest Burberry campaign alongside model Cara Delvigne and has previously said he enjoyed his "playful" shoot.

He said: "I have worked with Burberry before and it’s always a fantastic experience. Christopher wanted something playful from the shoot and so Cara and I had a genius couple of days fooling around. Hopefully the enjoyment we had is reflected in the campaign."
