Eddie Vedder to launch second solo album May 31

Pearl Jam frontman will also release solo concert DVD.

Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder, soon to resume performing with his famous alt rock band, has announced the release of his second solo album Ukelele Songs on May 31, reports Rolling Stone.

The new album will feature Vedder on his ukulele, performing some covers and some original compositions. Chan Marshall of Cat Power will perform on one track, and Glen Hansard of The Swell Season guests on another track.

A new version of Pearl Jam song Can’t Keep, composed by Vedder to open their 2002 album Riot Act is also included.

Also coming May 31, concert DVD Water on the Road was filmed at a couple of concerts in Washington, DC in August 2008 while Vedder was on his solo tour. He performs several songs from his Into the Wild soundtrack, along with songs from the upcoming album, covers and less known Pearl Jam songs like Driftin’ and Around the Bend.

Ukulele Songs first single, Longing to Belong, is available for download as of today (March 22).
