Elin Nordegren did not make him do it

According to certain sources, Tiger Woods’ wife did not ask him to make a public apology.

Tiger Woods’ public apology last Friday (February 19) was certainly a step in the right direction. But People reports that a source close to the couple says the golfer still has a long way to go before his wife gives him another chance.

The source reveals Elin Nordegren did not insist her husband make that public apology. She says, "Elin has been very angry and had every right to be angry at him. She never demanded he make the apology but it was a gesture he was willing to do."

For now, it seems like Nordegren is acting like the family unit is solid for the sake of the children. According to a friend, she does not want her children to be affected by the tension between them.

The source adds, "If it weren’t for the kids and their future, she would be long gone."

Woods made his public apology in front of some family and close friends, as well as some carefully selected journalists.

He has been back in sex addiction therapy since last Saturday (February 20).
