Elizabeth Taylor to Undergo Heart Surgery

Yesterday (October 6), Taylor announced to her friends and fans that she will soon enter the hospital to receive heart surgery, reports People.

The 77-year-old star wrote on her Twitter page, "Dear Friends, I would like to let you know before it gets in the papers that I am going into the hospital to have a procedure on my heart."

She explained that she a device is to be installed that would help repair a leaky valve, and indicated that it would not be an open heart operation.

She added, "Any prayers you happen to have lying around I would dearly appreciate. I’ll let you know when it’s all over."
