Eminem Continues to Support Family of Slain Friend

Rapper Eminem has been doing what he can to support the family of his slain friend, Proof, both emotionally and financially.

In April, 2006, DeShaun "Proof" Dupree Holton, 32, was shot and killed in a Detroit, Michigan nightclub.  It was ironic that the club shooting was similar to a scene from Eminem’s movie 8 Mile.

Eminem has launched a website to help his friend’s family raise money, and has also started selling t-shirts.  The shirts depict a picture of Proof, and are being sold by Shady Records, Eminem’s label.  All proceeds from the sales will go to the Big Proof Forever foundation, which will support Proof’s children.

The website also includes portions of the eulogies offered by Proof’s friends and family at his funeral.  "Right now, there’s a lot of people focusing on the way he died," Eminem says in one clip from the April service. "I want to remember the way he lived. Proof was funny, he was smart, he was charming. He inspired everyone around him. He can never, ever be replaced. He was, and always will be, my best friend."
