In a press release, the Eminem label Interscope Gaffen A&M confirmed that, "Marshall Mathers, a.k.a. Eminem, is in the hospital under doctor’s care. He is being treated for dependency on sleep medication."
WDIV added that there has been no date established for his return to regular activities.
Earlier this week, the star announced the cancellation of his European tour for reasons of fatigue.
