Eminem’s Mother Is Not a Monster

Debbie Nelson, the mother of rapper Eminem, is about to release a new memoir.

Debbie Nelson has written the book My Son Marshall, My Son Eminem.  In the book, she says that she was never the bad mother that Eminem suggested in his songs, including My Name Is.

According to Nelson, Eminem was once very attached to his mother and would throw fits when she left the house without him.  As his celebrity status grew, he began to distance himself from his mother, and wove stories about how she failed him as a mother.  Nelson said that his motivation was simple, explaining that, "the fouler he was, the more the audience loved him."

The fact that Eminem never knew his father also contributed to problems in the family.  His mother added, "He never knew his father and I did all I could to make up for it."
