Emirates Airlines launches nonstop Dubai-Washington service

(Relaxnews) – Emirates launched its daily nonstop flight from Washington Dulles International Airport to Dubai on Wednesday.

The new route is the 12th route to join the airline’s international network in 2012 and the seventh gateway for the carrier to the US.

The route will be served by a Boeing 777-200 LR aircraft which includes private suites in First Class, lie-flat beds in Business Class, SMS, telephone and email service and over 1,400 channels of in-flight entertainment.

Washington is home to more than 1,000 international institutions and over 1,000 foreign-owned companies. Dulles International Airport is one of the busiest in the US with over seven million passengers annually.

According to Tim Clark, president of Emirates, around 100,000 Middle Eastern passengers visited Washington DC and its surroundings last year.

The Middle Eastern airline started flying to the US in 2004 with a Dubai – New York route. Currently the carrier flies to Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas, Seattle and Washington DC. Emirates currently serves 126 destinations in 74 countries.
