During a recent trip to Malawi, David Ciccone Ritchie, alongside his mother Madonna, and his brother and sisters, Lourdes, Rocco and Mercy, returned to his orphanage for the first time, reports Us magazine.
People at the establishment recounted that it had been a touching moment when Madonna and David, 4, approached the little boy’s former crib.
Orphanage director Lucy Chipeta stated, "It was an emotional moment. David is too young to understand . . . but for us who remember the sickly tiny little baby of 2006, it was hard to hold back tears, including Madonna."
Thomson Chipeta, founder of the orphanage, added, "He is so boisterous! I can’t believe he is the same chap of 2006."
