Empty promises by Amy Winehouse?

The Grammy-award winner may not be able to deliver on a promise to release an album in early 2011.

Amy Winehouse says she will release a new album by the beginning of 2011. "The album will be six months at the most," Winehouse told Metro UK.

The singer was attending the premiere of boyfriend Reg Traviss’ new film, Psychosis. She added: "It’s going to be very much the same as my second album, where there’s a lot of jukebox stuff and songs that are… just jukebox, really."

However, someone in the know suggests this might be a bit of wishful thinking. Artist/producer Mark Ronson worked on her Grammy-awarding winning 2006 album, Back to Black.

Winehouse made a surprise appearance at his London gig last week (July 7). She performed her song Valerie for the crowd. Ronson told the Daily Mail after the show: "Amy hasn’t begun working on her next record yet. When she’s got ten songs we’ll go down to the studio together."

Winehouse has been fodder for the tabloids over the years due to her well-publicized substance abuse problems, health issues and love life. It’s about time the focus moved back to her amazing talent.
