Eric Avery Launching a Solo Album

Musician Eric Avery is launching his debut solo album in the spring.

Billboard announced that the former member of the group, Jane’s Addiction, will be releasing his solo album, Help Wanted, on April 8 under the label Dangerbird.

Avery collaborated with many artists on this album, including Flea, Foo Fighters bassist, Taylor Hawkins, as well as singer Shirley Manson.

Avery reported that this disc was created with diverse influences. "I’ve always had really eclectic musical taste — Flipper, Joy Division, Black Flag, Yes and Bronze. The only cohesive aspect to the record is that it’s really eclectic," he explained.

The singles All Remote and No Control reflect this variety and they can be heard on Avery’s MySpace page. For the moment, Avery has not scheduled a tour to promote the new album.
