Esteban Cortazar Leaves Ungaro

The artistic director at Ungaro, Esteban Cortazar, has said his good-byes.

After several weeks of rumours, Women’s Wear Daily confirmed that Cortazar has finally retired from his role as artistic director at Ungaro.

It seems that the decision was mutual between Cortazar and the company.

It was reported that Cortazar and Ungaro’s president, Mounir Moufarrige, had creative differences concerning the company’s marketing and advertisements.

Moreover, Cortazar had received some rather mixed reviews about the three collections he created for the label.

The young designer is a native of Colombia, and was hired in 2007 when he was just barely 23.
