Exhibition To Celebrate 75 Years of Brigitte Bardot

Brigitte Bardot is being exposed in the suburbs of Paris.

Brigitte Bardot, the French movie star who made headlines in the 1950s and 60s, will be featured in an exhibition of her life. Boulogne-Billancourt is a city in the Paris suburbs where Bardot filmed most of her French movies. Tomorrow (September 29), it will host the first exhibition devoted to this famous French icon.

Bardot, who celebrates her 75th birthday today, will be demystified in the eyes of visitors, who will have the chance to walk through the different stages of her life. The exhibition will take place at Espace Landowski and will feature more than 1 000 photos, excerpts from films, documentaries and other mementos. These include her famous Harley-Davidson motorcycle and her pink Vichy wedding dress.

Two of her potraits signed by Andy Warhol will also be on exhibit, one given by Alain Delon and the other by Gunter Sachs, one of her former husbands.

Brigitte Bardot, who was one of the world’s best known French stars, ended her movie career abruptly in 1973, at the age of 39, as she was stifled by the constant media attention she was under.

Bardot will not visit the exhibition, which will be held until January 31, 2010.
