Farro brothers speak out about split from Paramore

Blog posts Josh and Zac’s Exit Statement and names Hayley as the reason for their departure.

The Farro brothers have released a statement regarding their split from rock band Paramore, giving their own take on the falling out, reports Rolling Stone.

On Tuesday (December 21), Josh and Zac’s Exit Statement, was released on Josh Farro’s blog Tetelestai.

The brothers, Josh, the group’s former lead guitarist, and Zac, former drummer, point to lead singer Hayley Williams as the main cause of the rift, citing personal and religious differences, as well as the singer’s increasing focus on her solo career.

"This band became all about Hayley," said the brothers in their statement, going on to add:  "Hayley went off to write and record her solo demos while the four of us continued on without her."

It also accuses Williams of trying to dictate who could stay in the group, and that she had started her solo career without first consulting her bandmates.

The statement came in response to a December 18 announcement posted on the Paramore website, which revealed the Farros had quit the band.

The brothers say the news was released without their consent. The announcement, signed by the band’s remaining members, Hayley, Jeremy and Taylor, states that the group will still go ahead with next year’s South American tour as planned.
