‘Fast & Furious 7’ will film in Japan and the Middle East.

The action movie’s star and producer Vin Diesel has revealed that the next installment in the high octane franchise will continue the trend of shooting on location, but will also be partly shot in the US.

Speaking to Digital Spy, he said: "We’re definitely going back home, as you know from seeing ‘Fast & Furious 6’.

"We will have a stint in Tokyo and there is the Middle East next, that could be very interesting."

‘Fast & Furious 6’ is set in London, while the previous flick, ‘Fast Five’, was set in Rio de Janeiro.

The next movie will also have a new director as Justin Lin – who has helmed the last four films in the series – is set to bow out, allowing ‘Saw’ helmer James Wan to take over, and lead actor Paul Walker feels the new director will be a "good leader".

He said: "I see integrity already with him. I see a different look, a different feel. I think he’s going to be a really good leader. I like his head, I like his mind, I like his work, too. I think he’s got the balance. I think he’s a fan too, which is cool. So he gets the loyalty and our fan base, and the significance of it."
