Feist to release Metals in October

The singer-songwriter’s first LP in 4 years will contain 12 new tracks.

Fans have had to wait for four years but it would appear the delay is at last over. Feist will release her new album, entitled Metals, October 3.

Little of the new music has been revealed, but the Canadian-born artist has been building anticipation of the upcoming record with a series of mysterious videos trailers posted to her official website.

The most recent video – released yesterday (July 25) – features footage of the singer in the studio with her band. The album title appears over soaring violins.

Metals will contain 12 new songs and will feature Chilly Gonzales and Mocky as guest artists.

Despite the long break between albums, the Juno award-winning star has kept busy. She released a documentary in 2010 (Look What the Light Did Now) and has been collaborating with artists like Beck and Wilco.
