Fergie postpones solo career

Is that the pitter-patter of little feet?

In 2006, pop singer Fergie sold more than 6 million copies of her debut solo album, The Dutchess, And yet, despite the incredible solo and group success with the Black Eyed Peas, she has decided to postpone her solo career to be able to spend more time with her husband, actor Josh Duhamel.

Last year, the busy performer sang on the debut solo album of former Guns N ‘Roses guitarist, launched her debut fragrance under Avon in May, and helped launch the sixth Black Eyed Peas’ album in November, so she admits she’d like to streamline her activities this year.

“I’ve got a lot on my plate and this year is more about simplifying and really paying attention to the projects that I have on my plate and spending some time with the hubby, you know?” the Glamorous pop star told Access Hollywood in New York City on Wednesday (April 6).

“And cleaning out my closet,” she added. “That’s been a big thing this year — huge for me — purging and splurging… I finally am at the place where I’m letting it go, I’m cleaning things out and I’m starting to make more purchases for myself.”

Fergie and Duhamel married on January 10, 2009, after five years of dating. There are no baby rumors just yet, but it sure sounds like the singer is in nesting phase.

The Big Girls Don’t Cry hitmaker got her start on the pre-Glee musical TV show Kids Incorporated from 1984 to 1989. She returned to acting in 2006, appearing as a lounge singer in the Poseidon remake, and later had supporting roles in 2007’s Grindhouse and the 2009 musical Nine
