The two Canadian films starring Viggo Mortenson and Roy Dupuis are in the lead in 12 categories for the Genie Awards to be held on March 3 in Toronto.
In the category for Best Film, the two films will be competing against Away From Her, (7 nominations), Continental (5 nominations) and L’âge des ténèbres (5 nominations).
For Best Actress in a Supporting Role, the nominees are Marie-Ginette Guay (Continental), Véronique Le Flaguais (Surviving my Mother), Laurence Leboeuf (Ma fille, mon ange), Fanny Mallette (Continental), and Kristen Thomson (Away from Her).
Canadian actress Ellen Page who has an Oscar nomination for her performance in Juno, is up for Best Actress at the Genie Awards for her work in The Tracey Fragments.
