First Photos of the New Shrek

Fans can now get a first glimpse of the next Shrek flick.

USA Today has posted the first sneak peak of the film Shrek Forever After, the fourth instalment of the popular franchise.

The trailer will be launched on December 18 with the release of the James Cameron film Avatar.

In the fourth adventure, Shrek no longer scares people, but rather has people flocking to him for his autograph. To regain his powers of terror, Shrek will make a pact with Rumpelstiltskin, but the pact goes wrong and Shrek will find out what the land of Far Far Away looks like without him. Donkey will have to pull carts, Puss in Boots will have a pink bow instead of a sword and Rumpelstiltskin will rule the kingdom.

Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Antonio Banderas and Cameron Diaz reprised their roles as voices for the famous characters.

The first Shrek film in 2001 earned 455 million dollars in box offices worldwide. In 2004, Shrek 2 brought in $881 million and in 2007, Shrek the Third grossed $791 million. The celebrity ogre also became the object of a short Christmas telefilm, Shrek the Halls.

Shrek Forever After will hit theatres on May 21, 2010.
