First sequence of four wins for the CH this season

After a win against the Sharks on Thursday, the Canadiens were back in action tonight in Buffalo.

Montreal wanted to win a fourth straight game for the first time this season.

Here are the lineups for the occasion:

No goals were scored in the first period.

In the second, the goals started to be scored.

First, Cole Caufield scored his 29th goal of the season. This is a personal record for him.

Another point for Patrik Laine on the sequence, who has been playing well since the return from the all-star break.

Before the end of the period, Alex Newhook, with less than three seconds left, gave the visitors the lead again.

The Sabres played much better in the third period, but they never had any real chances to thwart Jakub Dobes.

Jake Evans sealed the outcome of the meeting in an empty net. He is one goal and one point away from tying his career highs in both categories.

Final score: 4-2 Canadiens, who win a fourth straight game for the first time this season.

And with this victory, Montreal finally gains ground on the last playoff spot, now just three points away.

Martin St-Louis’ team will face the Sabres again on Monday, this time at the Bell Centre.
