First Stage Completed in the Michael Jackson Trial

Jury selection, for the trial of Michael Jackson (accused of sexually abusing a minor), concluded yesterday, after only two days.

A Superior Court Judge, Rodney Melville, found more than 300 people ready to accept the huge task of being a jury member in the Michael Jackson trial.

The next step will begin Monday, when the jury members will be questioned individually by all of the lawyers involved.

During the two days of jury selection, more than 450 people have gone before Judge Melville in Santa Barbara, California, under close watch of Jackson and his lawyers.  More than 200 people have insisted that they cannot be jurors in this trial.

Michael Jackson, who is charged with sexually abusing a minor in his Neverland Estate in 2003, took notes during the proceedings.
