Celebration, Florida was established in the Nineties, but their love of the The A-Team, legwarmers and New Wave has inspired a quirky Independence Day celebration this year, named Flashback 4th of July.
The fun-loving members of this small, residential community will take to the streets in their best retro attire – and there will be plenty of incentive they give it their best shot: the person who sports the most formidable frosted eye shadow and headband look will go home with a prize.
Popular Eighties band, A Flock of Seagulls, will perform their hits live to ensure everybody continues dancing well into the night.
The folks of Celebration won’t be the only ones celebrating their independence in style: Florida’s big three theme parks – Universal Orlando, Walt Disney World and SeaWorld – all have their own July 4th events planned.
