The actor confirmed that he is negotiating to play in the thriller written and being directed by Sylvester Stallone.
Whitaker would play the CIA liaison for a group of mercenaries (played by Sylvester Stallone, Jet Li, Randy Couture, and Jason Statham), who have been sent to South America to overturn a dictator.
Filming will begin in February. Nu Image/Millennium has denied the rumours that Stallone is trying to recruit his former Demolition Man co-star, Sandra Bullock.
Forest Whitaker can be seen in a few films this year including Powder Blue, opposite Jessica Biel, and Hurricane Season. The release dates have not been announced.
