Four Seasons Hualalai resort reopens in Hawaii

Storm surge from March 11 tsunami forced 6-week closure.

The Four Seasons Resort Hualalai, located on the big island of Hawaii, is excited to welcome back guests since last March 11’s tsunami warning forced the evacuation of the resort.

Located in the heart of the Pacific Ocean, Hawaii was hit by a storm surge generated by the Japanese earthquake. Although the greatest damage was sustained in Japan, Hawaii was also affected, and even California to a lesser degree.

The resort sustained damage as water brought sand and debris onto the grounds, mainly affecting pool areas, landscaping, a restaurant, and 12 guest rooms and suites.
