Variety reported that the television series Fraggle Rock, will be brought to film by the Weinstein brothers. The film will be directed by Cory Edwards (Hoodwinked!).
The movie will feature a mix of humans and the famous puppets, Gogo, Wembley, Mokey, Boober and Red.
For Harvey Weinstein, this project is part of the new direction that he intends to give to his production company. "One of our main priorities when we first launched the Weinstein Company was to feature a broad range of family-friendly franchises like ‘Fraggle Rock,’ " he explained.
Fraggle Rock aired for the first time on HBO in 1983. The program ran for five seasons gaining popularity, and was broadcast in more than 80 countries.
