France Hosts a Year of Festivals

This year, France has festivals going on each month.

Starting January 28, Angouleme will invite comic book lovers to the 37th Festival International de la Bande Dessinée, during which comic books from all over the world will be on display throughout the city for 3 days. If you are there, an iTunes application can be downloaded to serve as an intuitive guide.

In February, the Fête des Amoureux, a kissing festival, will have people’s hearts throbbing in Roquemaure, close to Avignon. Get ready to pucker up and hear romantic music playing in all four corners of the town.

The party will be in Paris in March with the Festival de l’Imaginaire, which is a celebration of international art, music, dance and culture.

The Féria de Pâques, which is the season’s first bullfight, kicks off in early April in Arles in Provence. Several events will take place at the former Roman amphitheatre, which is the pride of Provence, especially for the bullfights held there regularly.

These are only 4 of the many festivals that promise to take you into France’s cultural vortex.
