Frankenstein’s Bride Makes a Comeback

Universal and Imagine are trying to bring back the bride of Frankenstein.

According to the blog Risky Biz, Universal and Imagine Studios intend on doing a remake for the Bride of Frankenstein, which was a 1935 production.

The bride at that time was played by Elsa Lanchester, while the monster was played by the inimitable Boris Karloff, who became type cast in his monster of Frankenstein role for six film productions. The actor was also the narrator for the 1966 animated film, How the Grinch Stole Christmas!.

The new version, based on the 1931 script, will be written and directed by Neil Burger, who worked his magic behind the scenes for 2006’s The Illusionist, which starred Edward Norton, Jessica Biel and Paul Giamatti.

No actor has been confirmed to the cast of the classic remake of the 1930s horror film.
