Muniz will team with two other television stars, Jon Foster (Life As We Know It) and Samaire Armstrong (The O.C.).
In the film, a group of friend from New Orleans reunited for a funeral of a friend who died while playing a video game. They discover that a vengeful spirit has taken over the game with the intention of murder.
Muniz will play a computer wiz, Armstrong will play a girl called Abigail, and Foster plays the lead role, Hutch, who plays the video game with the dark secret.
Filming begins next month in Louisiana.
