Freddie Mercury’s Life Becomes Film

Brian May, the guitarist from the rock group Queen, has revealed that a cinematic production about the life of Freddie Mercury is in the works.

According to Britain’s Daily Express, May expects that the feature film will reveal troubled aspects of the late singer.  Freddie Mercury died in 1991 of AIDS.  The singer was best known for his hits with Queen, such as We Are The Champions and Bohemian Rhapsody.

May explained, "There is a film in the pipeline and we’re all involved in it. I’m not allowed to say much about it and casting isn’t finalised but we’ve had some incredible offers to play Freddie."

Brian May is also working on his next album with Queen bassist Roger Taylor.  It will be the first material recorded by the men since the death of Mercury.  May added, "It’s going really well. We’re just writing what we want at the moment but it’s all a tribute to Freddie. I mean, without him, we wouldn’t be here."
