A new iPhone app providing detailed information about 35 different Montreal museums is now available on Apple’s iTunes App Store.
The free application, Montreal Museums, allows users to stay up-to-date on permanent and temporary exhibitions, with images and descriptions of artworks currently on display at the city’s museums.
Each of the included museums is given ten slots to display pieces from their collection, cramming 350 different works of art into the tiny 2.5 MB app. If that isn’t enough, the artwork is rotated periodically in an effort to keep visitors coming back.
The application is available in both English and French, and displays the language in accordance with the user’s iPhone configuration.
Montreal Museums is also capable of suggesting thematic walking tours, providing directions to each museum, and allowing users to quickly and easily post information to a Facebook profile.
The app runs on iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. Applications for BlackBerry and Android devices are also available.
