Frusciante Leaves Red Hot Chili Peppers

The Red Hot Chili Peppers will once again be looking for a new guitar player.

During the long-enduring career of the band, which began making music in 1983, the Red Hot Chili Peppers have enjoyed smash hits with John Frusciante on board.

However, the musician announced on his blog that he has left the group for a second time.  Frusciante’s first departure was in 1992 following a serious heroin addiction.

When he first joined the band at age 18, Frusciante helped record Mother’s Milk in 1989.  He was also a part of the 1991 hit album, Blood Sugar Sex Magik, which brought out such signature tunes as Give It Away and Under the Bridge.

Following his first departure, Dave Navarro was brought on board.  During that time, it was believed that the Red Hot Chili Peppers were nearing an end.  In a last-ditch effort to keep the band alive, Flea told Anthony Kiedis that Frusciante’s return was vital to their future endeavours.  Frusciante accepted Flea’s offer to rejoin the band, and the guitarist was a Pepper once again.

Three more albums were produced after Frusciante returned, including Californication (1999), By The Way (2002) and Stadium Arcadium (2006), a double album that topped the charts.

John Frusciante announced that he will be concentrating on solo projects, adding on to the dozen solo albums to his name.  In turn, the Red Hot Chili Peppers have not issued any statements on who may be replacing the Fender guitar-loving band member.
