Furtado and Timbaland Face Copyright Lawsuit

Finnish composer, Janne Suni, claims that Nelly Furtado and Timbaland plagiarized one of his songs.

Papers were filed at the Miami-Dade District Court in which Nelly Furtado and Timbaland face a copyright infringement lawsuit. The plaintiff is Finnish artist Janne Suni, who claims they copied his song Acidjazzed Evening, reports NME.com.

He states that Furtado and Timbaland have used, without his consent, the central melody, rhythmic and harmonic components of Acidjazzed Evening in the song Do It, which appeared on the Canadian singer’s 2006 album, Loose.

In 2000, Suni won the 2000 Old Skool Music competition with Acidjazzed Evening.
