According to Variety, Oldman and Washington have joined the cast of the post-apocalyptic drama, Book of Eli.
Washington is set to play Eli, a lone hero who battles on to protect a book that could save humanity. Oldman will play the tyrant of a small village who wants to get his hands on the book Eli is guarding.
The film will be directed by Allen and Albert Hughes (From Hell). Production is set to begin in New Mexico in February, and the film is scheduled to be released on January 15, 2010.
We can next see Gary Oldman in the horror thriller The Unborn, opening on January 9.
