George Michael on a Man Hunt

Pop singer George Michael was seen flirting north of London, in an unusual place.

The founder of WHAM!, who is openly homosexual, was in Hampstead Heath, north of London, last Sunday. It is a public outdoor area with 25 3.2-square kilometer ponds, known as a popular gay hangout.

George Michael would have spent time with a 58-year old man, Norman Kirtland, before fleeing the photographers and journalists who were chasing him. For his defense, the singer insisted on saying that he remains a model for young gay people and that he cannot feel bad for flirting.

"I should be able to be what I am to young gay people," said the man who has managed to succeed in the industry for 25 years. "Sorry if people don’t like the fact I flirt on Hampstead Heath but the police absolutely accept that it goes on at night. It’s the only place in London where that is the case so it’s generally a safe place," explained the singer of the album Faith (1987).

George Michael will launch this year his second compilation, Hits 25. It will include some of his best songs, as well as three new tracks.
