According to Variety, Depardieu will be directed in the project by Boris Damast. Joseph Fiennes will play the well-known composer.
Jacqueline Bisset, Lena Headey and Malcolm McDowell have also joined the cast of the film. Depardieu, 58, will play a wealthy noble with dishonourable intentions toward Vivaldi.
The biography will concentrate on the composer’s youth, when, as a young priest, he was sent to serve as music master at a school abandoned, illegitimate daughtes of Venice’s courtesans. He bonds with the girls, and they present a concert for the Pope.
