Ghoulish tour of Hollywood graves

Visit the ghosts of movie stars past this Halloween.

Since Hollywood is the home of countless movie stars, it comes as no surprise that many of them choose it as their final resting place come judgement day.

One man’s interest in the rich history of cemeteries has culminated in L.A.’s Graveside Companion, a book about where all the famous bodies are buried.

Steve Goldstein, a businessman and Boston native moved to Los Angeles 36 years ago, bringing along one of his passions: visiting cemeteries. In Massachusetts, the history buff used to roam the cemeteries, reading gravestones from the 17th and 18th centuries.

His interest continued when he moved to California and began visiting local cemeteries, stumbling across the crypts for Rudoph Valentino and Douglas Fairbanks.

Goldstein’s website, www.beneathlosangeles.com provides information on where you can visit and pay your respects to famous actors like Marilyn Monroe, Natalie Wood, Jack Lemmon, and many others.
